A Facebook Case Study
Drivemode, an Android app that simplifies and safer phone use while driving, wanted to grow US downloads without raising cost-per-install. After limited gains from link and video ads, the company looked to test a new, more engaging ad format to drive installs.
Working with Facebook Marketing Partner Taptica, Drivemode deployed immersive Canvas ads, built Custom Audiences based on post-install activity (1, 3 and 10 uses), targeted 1% and 2% lookalikes, and used automated rules to reallocate budget to top-performing audiences. In four months Canvas generated 60% of installs, cut cost-per-install by 5% versus video, delivered 40% more installs and lifted CTR by 60% compared to video ads.
