A Facebook Case Study
WonderPlanet, the Japanese developer of mobile puzzle game Crash Fever, sought to expand into Taiwan and Hong Kong with a traditional Chinese release and hit a top-10 App Store ranking within two months. The challenge was finding new, high-value players outside Japan quickly and efficiently.
They created Lookalike Audiences based on their Japanese player base and ran mobile app ads (photo, carousel and video) with an “Install Now” CTA, using A/B testing to optimize creative. The campaign drove one million downloads in two months, sourced 70% of users through Facebook ads, and propelled Crash Fever to the number-one App Store ranking in Taiwan and Hong Kong.
