west elm, the home-furnishings brand launched in Brooklyn in 2002 and part of Williams-Sonoma, set out to establish a UK presence and build a customer base. To expand into Europe the company needed to attract the right UK shoppers, drive traffic to its ecommerce site and convert those visitors into buyers.

west elm UK ran Facebook link ads using customer emails to create Custom and Lookalike Audiences, paired with clean product photography and conversion-lift measurement. The campaign (June–July 2014) drove a 3.3X increase in website visits, a 40% higher purchase rate, reached 1.6 million prospective customers, delivered 29,000 incremental visits and produced a 3.6X lift in response rate.
