Hotai Motors’ Toyota Taiwan launched the all-new Camry and faced a brand challenge: convince younger buyers that the Camry wasn’t just for older drivers and drive showroom visits and test drives. Toyota wanted to leverage its customer data to reach and change perceptions among younger audiences in Taiwan.
Toyota ran a series of humorous video ads on Facebook targeted at 30–54‑year‑old men, using reach & frequency, optimized CPM, Custom and Lookalike Audiences, and link ads offering a free Bluetooth speaker to encourage test‑drive registrations. In 19 days the campaign reached about 2.16 million people, generated 10,000 clicks, lifted brand recommendation by 7 points among the target group, produced a 10% increase in orders month‑over‑month, and helped the Camry remain the #1 new car in the medium sedan segment.
