A Facebook Case Study
Sparkasse (Deutscher Sparkassen- und Giroverband), the umbrella organisation for German savings banks, needed to drive awareness and adoption of Kwitt, its new peer-to-peer money-transfer feature in the mobile app. The challenge was to introduce the service broadly while making interactions feel personal and encouraging people to start using the feature.
They ran a three-step campaign using attention-grabbing Facebook video ads to introduce a memorable character, retargeted viewers into Messenger, and used a chatbot to create personalized videos users could share. The campaign delivered 7.6 million video views (€0.0087 cost per view), generated 135,000 personalized videos shared via Messenger, and boosted Kwitt activity—send-money transactions rose 22% and request-money transactions rose 18%.
