SoundBoks is a Danish startup founded by a group of students that created rugged, high‑power portable speakers aimed at festival-goers. With a limited budget and a unique product category, the company’s challenge was to build awareness, highlight the need for its speakers at festivals, and convert festival audiences into buyers ahead of the 2015 season.
Using Facebook’s targeting (music/festival interests, custom and lookalike audiences), the team ran daily, event‑timed ads with countdowns, offered free sunglasses to create urgency, remarketed site visitors, and promoted pop‑up shops at specific festivals. The campaign sold out the first production run, generated 70+ person queues at pop-ups, and delivered a 14× return on ad spend with under €0.13 cost per click.
