A Facebook Case Study
SoFi, a modern finance company founded by four graduate students in 2011 that offers student, personal and mortgage loans plus wealth management, needed to raise brand awareness, educate prospective customers and increase ad recall and quality starts for student and personal loans—despite having no physical branches and relying on digital channels to reach borrowers.
SoFi ran three mobile-optimized Facebook and Instagram campaigns in 2016 (Bankless World, Great, Not Great and Member Stories), using Custom and Lookalike Audiences, alma-mater demographic layering, the Facebook pixel and Nielsen measurement to target and track results. The campaign drove a 15-point lift in brand awareness, a 14-point increase in ad recall, a 5-point rise in intent to get a loan from SoFi and a 39% increase in pre-approved student and personal loan applications.
