Reaching more visitors with Facebook and Instagram video and carousel ads

New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation (NOTMC), the city’s official leisure travel promotion agency, wanted to drive more visitors by highlighting lesser-known parts of New Orleans—“the other side.” The challenge was to broaden awareness outside the city and make creative that captured attention on mobile social feeds.

Working with agency 360i and Facebook Creative Shop, NOTMC ran a mobile-first campaign across Facebook and Instagram using reach-and-frequency buying, sequential video and carousel ads, and retargeting of video engagers. The mobile-optimized, sound-off-friendly videos and creative testing drove strong results: 17.4 million people reached, an 8-point lift in intent to visit (11 points for women 25–34), a 73% lift in video completion rate, and a 3-point lift in ad recall.
