A Facebook Case Study
Akbank, a major Turkish bank founded in 1948 with 840 branches and more than 15 million customers, wanted to boost personal loan applications through its Akbank Direkt mobile app. The challenge was to drive qualified, cost‑effective loan conversions by encouraging existing customers to apply via the app.
Akbank ran a Facebook mobile app ad campaign (April 3–21, 2017) using the Facebook pixel, Adjust mobile measurement, App Event Optimization, Custom Audiences and core targeting to find and exclude users as appropriate and serve timely, relevant creative. The campaign drove an average of over 500 customer conversions per day, generated 15% of the bank’s personal loans during the period, accounted for 45% of approved app loan applications, and delivered a 70% lower cost per loan versus other performance channels.
