Promoting a medical app with Facebook video ads

Ada Health is a clinician-built medical app that provides personalised symptom assessments and has been ranked number one in the Medical category in over 130 countries. To expand access to its health assessments, the company needed to build awareness, drive app installs and convert those installs into completed signups and assessments across diverse user groups.

Ada ran highly engaging video and photo ads on Facebook and Instagram, using continuous A/B testing and precise targeting (including separate iOS and Android campaigns routed to the correct landing pages) to optimise performance. Over the Dec 2016–July 2017 campaign the approach lowered cost per signup, increased the install-to-signup rate by 18%, and generated one million signups in less than eight months.
