Playful Facebook video ads get audiences excited about Paddington 2

STUDIOCANAL, a leading European film studio, set out to boost awareness and drive cinema intent for the 2017 release of Paddington 2 in the UK. The challenge was to create a warm, witty digital campaign that re-engaged fans and attracted families ahead of the film’s release.

Working with Facebook Creative Shop and partner agencies, STUDIOCANAL ran playful video-led ads across Facebook and Instagram—using Canvas, Stories, camera effects, Live, and automatic placements—targeting UK adults and young parents. The campaign lifted awareness and intent to see Paddington 2 by 3 points each and achieved a 2.5% higher view rate by using automatic placements across both platforms.
