Perch is a mobile app that aggregates social posts, promotions, reviews and other published content so small and medium-sized business owners can monitor their marketplace and competitors in one place. The company’s challenge was to build brand awareness and drive app installs among a specific U.S. audience of local brick‑and‑mortar small business owners (age 23+) across retail, food & dining, arts & entertainment, and health & beauty verticals.

Perch tested Facebook tactics—Pages, boosted posts and mobile app ads—and used Power Editor with lookalike audiences, interest and behavior targeting, allocating about 60% of its marketing spend to Facebook. The campaign delivered 50,000 downloads in six months, a 3× higher install rate than sponsored email, 2× higher click‑to‑install conversions versus traditional mobile ads, and a 10% better conversion of downloads to registered users, while earning industry recognition like MediaPost’s Appy Award.
