A Facebook Case Study
TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site, set out to make travel more social and increase visits, engagement, referrals and bookings by getting more people to use its site and Facebook canvas app and to share their travel experiences with friends.
By linking web, mobile and Facebook with Login with Facebook, Open Graph sharing and targeted ads, TripAdvisor made it easy to plan, share and review trips. Facebook-connected users became 27% more engaged and contributed twice as much content; the program produced 1 billion Open Graph actions, 39 million monthly Facebook app visitors, a 10X rise in monthly active users on the canvas app, more than doubled new users, marketable members grew nearly 100% to 44 million, and over 33% of new reviews came from Facebook sign-ins.
