A Facebook Case Study
Cheetah Mobile, the China-based developer behind the popular livestreaming app Live.me, wanted to boost US installs and get more return on ad spend by giving potential users a true feel for the app before download. The challenge was to create a mobile ad experience that mirrored the interactive, media-rich nature of Live.me and better motivated US audiences to install and engage.
They ran a 20-day Facebook Canvas campaign that replicated the app UI—letting users scroll through live broadcaster channels, try effects, then swipe to see features and a short video with an App Store link—targeting US mobile users 18+. Compared with prior Facebook formats, the campaign drove a 3.4X increase in click-through rate, a 46% lift in app engagement, a 5.8X increase in revenue per average user and a 96% increase in revenue per high-value user.
