Its goal was to generate leads for a free 2‑week trial (with a city guide incentive) and to turn trialists into paying subscribers using Facebook as a lead‑generation platform.

Working with agency Social Blue, Het Parool ran Facebook Ads that excluded existing subscribers via Custom Audiences and used Lookalike Audiences to find similar prospects. The campaign delivered 2,000 new dedicated leads in five weeks, achieved a 45% click‑to‑lead conversion rate and a 5% lead‑to‑client conversion rate, while generating high engagement on the platform.
