Fiken is a Norway-based online accounting system used by over 12,000 small businesses that simplifies bookkeeping, payroll, and invoicing across devices. As a small, fast-growing company, Fiken needed to build relationships with current users and attract new customers, so it turned to Facebook to raise awareness and drive signups.

Fiken ran targeted ad campaigns (including lookalike and interest/behavior targeting) to promote a free 30-day trial, used its Facebook Page for product updates and one-on-one support via Messenger, and leveraged Custom and Carousel Ads. Between April 2015–April 2016, Facebook accounted for 50% of new-user referrals, 60% of ad-referred signups, delivered a 25% higher return on ad investment than other channels, and helped nearly double the company’s growth rate.
