Facebook dynamic ads drive fine wine sales

Geile Weine is a young, online German wine brand spun out of Mainz retailer Weinraumwohnung that targets a younger, social-savvy audience. Although it had built a strong Facebook and Instagram following with original, humorous content and wine‑pairing expertise, the company’s challenge was turning fans into paying customers and growing online sales.

To do that it used Facebook dynamic ads fed by a product catalogue and the Facebook pixel to retarget site visitors and reach lookalike and custom audiences, complementing its organic social presence. The campaign drove an estimated 30% increase in sales and a 5× lift in return on ad spend over three months (Oct 1–Dec 21, 2016).
