A Facebook Case Study
Hawkers, the Spanish eyewear brand, wanted to see whether Facebook’s collection ad format would outperform its usual photo ads for a new collaboration launch with El Ganso. Working with Facebook and Marketing Partner MakelMeReach, Hawkers tested the campaign in Spain using Lookalike Audiences to reach people similar to its existing customers.
The Facebook solution used collection ads with catalogue images beneath a hero image, keeping the creative and copy the same as the photo ads for a fair test. The results were strong: Facebook’s collection format delivered 86% higher engagement, 51% higher return on ad spend, and 30% lower cost per purchase. Hawkers was impressed enough to allocate 33% of its Facebook ad spend to the format.
