Fablic, a Japanese startup behind the fashion marketplace app FRIL, set out to expand beyond its female user base and attract male users while keeping cost per install low. With a mobile-first product aimed at teens and 20-somethings, the company needed a scalable way to reach a new audience and drive app installs efficiently.
Fablic ran mobile News Feed carousel ads to showcase multiple products, used Custom Audiences to exclude existing users and Lookalike Audiences to find similar prospects, and optimized creative based on ad relevance scores. Over a two-month campaign the approach delivered a 59% lower cost per install, 2.7× higher click-through rate, a 2.3× higher ad relevance score and 40% higher lifetime value versus other media.
