Dario, a pocket-sized glucose smart meter that connects to a smartphone app, launched into several new markets with the challenge of introducing a novel medical device in a traditional, saturated healthcare space and signing people up to use it. After regulatory approval in Europe, the company needed to build awareness and generate quality sales leads across Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the UK and the Netherlands.

Dario ran targeted Facebook awareness and lead-generation campaigns using Custom and Lookalike Audiences, video and carousel ads, a dedicated Facebook Page for community engagement, and the Facebook pixel to track conversions and app installs. Over a three-month campaign the approach doubled online sales, tripled sales in Australia and improved return on ad spend by 30%, while also creating an active online community of supportive users.
