Capturing Trials and Sales with Tiered Targeting

TechSmith, a visual communication software company behind Snagit and Camtasia, wanted to increase free-trial downloads and ultimately drive more web sales. To do this, it worked with Facebook and used Facebook Pixel, Ads, video, and carousel ads to retarget website visitors who had shown interest but had not yet downloaded a trial.

Facebook’s tiered remarketing campaign delivered ads in stages over six days, excluding people once they converted and focusing spend on high-intent prospects. The result was a 2.6x increase in trial downloads and purchases, a 2x return on advertising spend, and a USD 5 cost per purchase for both products, showing strong measurable impact from Facebook’s solution.
