JCPenney, a 110-year-old value-focused U.S. retailer, sought to strengthen sales online and in stores by improving mobile advertising performance and re-engaging shoppers who abandoned carts. The challenge was to scale relevant creative across channels without heavy asset production while driving measurable incremental sales.

They implemented Facebook Dynamic Ads—adding a Facebook pixel, uploading their product catalog, and targeting users who viewed products or left items in their carts across Facebook, Instagram and the Audience Network. The dynamic, personalized ads drove a 12.2% lift in online purchases, a 10.4% lift in online revenue and a 6.45× increase in incremental online return on ad spend.
