Bing, the Microsoft search engine, wanted to promote its new social sidebar and show how it combined search with insights from friends. To do this, Bing worked with Facebook using the Facebook Platform, Pages, and Ads to launch a social campaign and build awareness among its target audience.
Facebook helped Bing drive adoption through targeted media, News Feed placements, Open Graph sharing, and Facebook-specific creative, while growing Bing’s fan base ahead of launch. The campaign reached 31 million unique users on day one and delivered a 108% lift in campaign awareness, 5x more engagement than other digital platforms, and a 166% increase in daily people talking about it.
