Automating ad campaigns with the Facebook Marketing API

Youzu, a China-based game developer known for Legacy of Discord, needed to scale its Facebook marketing without adding headcount. The company wanted to run many more ads and improve campaign efficiency but lacked the resources to create and manage them manually.

Working with Facebook’s Solutions Engineering team, Youzu built an automated ad-management system using the Facebook Marketing API—leveraging bulk creative upload, parameterized bulk ad generation, reporting APIs, and split-testing—then fully integrated it into its marketing platform in April 2017. Within one month of full implementation Youzu saw a 3% increase in installs, a 14% lower cost per install and an 8% higher return on ad spend, while gaining the ability to create and optimize far more ads at scale.
