MakerBot, a maker of 3D printing tools for offices, classrooms and homes with a primary focus on education, needed to drive more qualified leads for its sales team by simplifying the lead-capture process—especially on mobile—so educators could easily express interest in school-focused deals.

The company ran targeted Facebook lead ads promoting a “buy two, get one free (refurbished)” educator offer, prepopulated an 8-field lead form, answered questions in ad comments, and used Marketo’s Ad Bridge to feed leads directly into its sales and automation workflow. Over a 7-week fall campaign the effort generated 626 qualified marketing leads, a 30% increase in leads and a 25% reduction in cost per lead versus a similar non-lead ad campaign.
