A Facebook Case Study
A–Z is a new sportswear brand created by Norwegian retailer Varner in partnership with footballer Zlatan Ibrahimović, launched to make sport accessible to everyone. For its May 2016 European debut the brand’s challenge was to generate broad awareness and engagement quickly across 11 countries using Zlatan’s star power.
A–Z ran an 8-week campaign on Facebook and Instagram using teaser posts, video ads, interest-based and lookalike targeting, retargeting, and a Facebook Live launch in Paris that drew 4.2 million viewers. The campaign delivered strong lifts in metrics: a 23-point increase in ad recall in Sweden (17 in the Netherlands), an 18-point lift in brand awareness in the Netherlands, and a 7-point increase in association of Zlatan with A–Z in Sweden.
