A Fable Case Study
Slack, a provider of a workplace communication platform, sought to broaden its user base by making its software more accessible and inclusive for people with disabilities who use assistive technology. Their challenge was to shift accessibility from a post-production check to an integral part of the design process. To achieve this, they partnered with Fable and utilized Fable Engage, an accessibility research and testing platform.
Fable provided Slack with access to a community of testers with disabilities, enabling an iterative feedback loop early in the product development cycle. This solution allowed Slack's team to prototype features, test them with real users, and learn what worked and what didn't. By embedding this process, Fable helped Slack create a cultural shift towards accessibility, resulting in products that are not just technically accessible but pleasantly usable for everyone.
