Using 360 degree feedback as a key development tool

Nationwide, the world’s biggest building society, wanted a more intuitive 360 degree feedback tool to help identify, develop and retain future leaders, while supporting a people-focused culture change and stronger ownership of performance and development. Expert Training Systems (ETS) worked with Nationwide on a 360 degree feedback programme aligned to its behavioural framework and five-year people strategy.

Expert Training Systems redesigned the questionnaire, reporting and process to better fit Nationwide’s needs, including simplifying the language, introducing an anchored observed frequency scale, halving completion time and providing clearer, more visual reports. The refreshed 360 has been well received by participants and leadership development practitioners, with feedback describing it as simple, clear and easy to use, and it is now being used at individual, team and organisational levels to guide development planning and behavioural change.
