McDonald’s worked with Expert Training Systems (ETS) to move its UK employee survey programme beyond satisfaction measurement and toward a more engagement-focused approach. The challenge was to create a survey that was relevant, quick to complete, and accessible to 85,000 UK employees across offices, restaurants, and franchise operations, while also improving reporting and local manager insight.

Expert Training Systems designed a new survey platform, built an engagement index, and supported McDonald’s with consultancy, analysis, and reporting dashboards. The solution was rolled out twice yearly with mobile, QR-code, and in-restaurant access, and it enabled local and corporate action plans based on survey insights. ETS’s analysis also helped McDonald’s link engagement to business metrics such as retention, intention to stay, and leadership perception.
