Debenhams, one of the UK and Ireland’s best-known department store retailers with over 20,000 employees, wanted a better understanding of how its people felt about working for the business. The executive board needed detailed feedback from all employees and had not previously run an all-employee survey at this scale, so it turned to Expert Training Systems for help with an engagement programme and employee survey.
Expert Training Systems provided pre-survey stakeholder support, helping key retail and head office leaders review the questionnaire and prepare for action planning, and developed a user-friendly online survey tool with reporting and benchmarking features. The results gave Debenhams a clear view of what drives engagement, improved manager communication, and led to visible action on feedback across departments, with employees seeing change and engagement becoming a greater focus for managers.
