South East Water partnered with Expert Training Systems (ETS) in 2015 to launch a new employee engagement survey for its 950 employees. The company wanted a fresh approach after its last survey in 2013, using the survey to assess how well its values were being embedded and to identify ways to improve engagement, business performance, and customer service across a diverse and changing workforce.
Expert Training Systems designed and delivered the “Count Me In” survey, including tailored questionnaire design, a mobile-friendly platform, branded communications, and flexible reporting for different employee levels. The result was an 87% response rate, with 22 of 27 benchmarked questions scoring above ETS’s benchmark and 13 significantly above it; the insights also informed changes to L&D, organisational development, and career progression, while the reporting tools and action plans helped South East Water target improvements and maintain momentum through follow-up pulses.
