A Experian Case Study
West Yorkshire Police, which relies heavily on accurate person and incident records, was facing a rapid rise in data inaccuracies from many sources and formats. The resulting duplicates and incomplete records risked delaying investigations; the Data Quality team was manually correcting records at a rate of 4–5 errors per hour and estimated it would take 2.5 years to fix everything with existing resources.
After an Experian data assessment, the force implemented Experian Aperture Data Studio — using validation, enrichment and machine‑learning deduplication to prevent bad data entering the system. The change delivered immediate results: a 600% increase in productivity, allowed the team to focus on complex cases, and enabled more proactive data‑quality management, automation and improved data sharing.
