The University of North Texas System’s flagship campus in Denton faced poor address hygiene and numerous duplicate records in undergraduate admissions, which threatened timely, appropriate communications with prospective students. Their existing duplicate-identification tool was at end-of-life, took 8–16 hours to run, and offered limited technical support, creating delays and risking disengagement of prospective students.
UNT evaluated vendors and implemented Experian Data Quality’s NameSearch for fast, configurable duplicate matching and an address hygiene solution for system-wide address validation. The new tools identify more duplicates in minutes versus hours, let staff resolve records same day, and have cut returned mail to admissions by 39% (March–October comparison), improving outreach accuracy and reducing costs.
