SECURA Insurance, a mutual property-and-casualty insurer based in Appleton, Wis., sells policies through independent agents across 13 states and is rated “A” by A.M. Best. With tens of thousands of commercial policies, SECURA needed a way to consistently and efficiently process large renewal volumes, respond quickly to agents while managing risk, and obtain better small‑business information to speed underwriting decisions.

SECURA implemented Experian Business Information Services—using Portfolio Scoring with a monthly file exchange to return payment, legal and Intelliscore data for renewals, and BusinessIQ, Intelliscore Plus and BizSource for new applications—plus training for underwriters. The change improved hit rates, let underwriters segment and prioritize higher‑risk accounts, streamlined renewals and new‑business workflows, and helped SECURA increase sales despite industry pricing softness.
