The Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training’s Unemployment Insurance program processes more than 75,000 claims a year and relies on 60 call center operators to capture both claimant and employer addresses. Inaccurate address data led to returned mail and checks, delays in claim processing, extra work verifying information, and risk to the Unemployment Trust Fund.
The team implemented Experian’s QAS Pro for real-time USPS-validated address capture with a selectable drop-down, quick on-site configuration, and brief training (including asking for ZIP codes first). The result was immediate on-screen validation, fewer spelling queries, significant reductions in returned forms and checks, faster call handling, and expansion of the tool to another division.
