Atlas Credit is a Texas-based lender offering small-dollar, up-to-12-month personal loans to consumers with below-average credit across 50+ locations in Texas and Oklahoma. As the business expanded and moved more applications online, manual underwriting led to inconsistent, slow decisions; the company needed to increase booked loans and conversion rates without raising credit risk by automating instant decisioning and reducing manual reviews.

Experian built an explainable custom AI credit model using Ascend Intelligence Services and extended attributes, trended and alternative data, then deployed decisioning in the cloud on the PowerCurve platform. The solution automated underwriting, enabled instant decisions, improved customer experience, and — by optimizing score cutoffs and rules — is projected to nearly double approvals while reducing credit losses by about 15–20%.
