ACS Medical Business Solutions, Louisiana’s largest revenue cycle management and billing firm with over 42 years’ experience and a client base of more than 5,000 providers, faced a pandemic-era data crisis: COVID‑19 testing and vaccination sites often collected incomplete patient identity information (notably missing SSNs), leaving providers unable to bill private and Medicare payers. With claims submission deadlines looming and staff forced to chase records across physician practices, timely reimbursement was at risk.

Working with Experian Health, ACS used the Universal Identity Manager and Experian Single Best Record to securely verify, match and consolidate disparate patient records. The solution processed more than 75,000 contact records in 24 hours, enabling submission of roughly 65,000 claims worth over $20 million, with a 69% unique-match rate and 12% duplicates identified—dramatically speeding and improving reimbursement.
