Educational Employees Credit Union - Customer Case Study

Educational Employees Credit Union (EECU), founded in 1934, is one of California’s oldest credit unions with 13 branches and more than 158,000 members; it opens about 1,600 new accounts monthly. EECU faced a challenge with 1–2% of mailing addresses being incomplete or inaccurate, which caused returned mail, wasted staff time correcting addresses, and risked noncompliance with federal disclosure requirements.

EECU deployed Experian’s real‑time address verification across branches and support services to validate entries against official postal records; the tool is intuitive and required minimal training. The result: returned mail is now limited to members who move without notifying the credit union, saving about $2,500 annually on new account mailings, improving regulatory compliance, enhancing fraud detection, and freeing staff to focus on member service.
