Exotel Helps Indus Action Reach Parents from the Economically Weaker Sections of Society

Indus Action, an NGO founded by Harvard and MIT students, runs Project Eklavya to raise awareness of the RTE Act and connect parents from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) with their entitled school seats. To cost‑effectively reach and guide these families, Indus Action partnered with Exotel for call center solutions, IVR and business SMS services.

Exotel implemented a missed‑call-to‑IVR callback system with SMS confirmations and routed queries to support executives for 24‑hour outbound follow‑up, becoming the backbone of Project Eklavya’s helpline. This solution supports Indus Action’s pilot goal of 10,000 applications across Delhi and underpins plans to scale nationally to enroll 1 million families, with Exotel slated for deeper integration into their tech stack.
