Case Study: Amnesty International India achieves mobilisation of over 3 million supporters with Exotel

A Exotel Case Study

Preview of the Amnesty International India Case Study

Amnesty uses Exotel to Garner Support for its Campaigns

Amnesty International India, a human-rights campaigning organisation, needed a regional, high-volume way to mobilise public support where internet reach was limited. To capture massive participation and manage supporter journeys, they partnered with Exotel and used Exotel’s missed-call services, IVR and SMS capabilities to provide last-mile phone-based connectivity.

Exotel implemented a missed-call enrolment system with automated IVR and scheduled SMS/call flows to convert callers into supporters and nurture actions. The solution scaled to handle campaign spikes (about 2 million calls in one Tamil Nadu campaign) and helped Amnesty build a supporter base of over 3 million people in India, improving outreach, retention and campaign responsiveness.
