Max Motor Service Center cuts impeller casting lead time from 15 weeks to 7 days with ExOne

Max Motor Service Center, a provider of mechanical and electrical design services in Thailand, faced a challenge when a client needed four replacement double-suction impellers within six weeks. A traditional wood pattern process would have taken 15 weeks, making the deadline impossible to meet. They partnered with vendor ExOne and specialist Speed 3D Mold to find a solution using ExOne's S-Max® binder jetting technology.

Speed 3D Mold used the ExOne S-Max® system to 3D print the required sand moulds and cores for the large, complex impellers. This process drastically accelerated production, delivering all mould and core packages in just seven days compared to the 15-week lead time of traditional methods. This not only saved significant time and eliminated the high cost of wood tooling, but also resulted in perfect casting quality that exceeded the customer's expectations.
