A EXL Case Study
EXL worked with a leading healthcare organization that was trying to improve health and cost outcomes by shifting from reactive to proactive care management. The organization needed a better way to engage members across the risk spectrum, especially those who were not yet high risk, because its existing analytics could only identify members needing immediate intervention and could not proactively spot emerging chronic members.
EXL applied longitudinal analysis and proprietary predictive and prescriptive analytics to identify members likely to become high risk in the next two to three years, assess care gaps, and determine which members were impactable and intervenable. By factoring in social determinants of health, lifestyle, utilization patterns, and communication preferences, EXL helped the client prioritize care management resources and tailor interventions, supporting expected improvements in risk, per-member-per-month cost, utilization, and compliance.
