EXL helped a leading healthcare provider organization, a Midwestern academic medical center, respond to the COVID-19 surge by addressing overwhelmed emergency departments and clinics, supply chain strain, and the need to manage rapidly changing clinical and operational data. The hospital needed a way to integrate information from many systems and sources, including EMR, ERP, HR, supply chain, quality, external data, and unstructured clinical notes.
EXL built a centralized dashboard using SQL, Tableau, and Azure, along with NLP and predictive analytics, to consolidate more than 25 application systems and track over 100 COVID-19 metrics in near real time. In just three weeks, EXL delivered a solution that improved clinical and non-clinical decision making, supported PPE and capacity management, tracked vaccination status, enabled required public health reporting, and predicted likely COVID-19 cases from doctor notes and symptoms.
