A EXL Case Study
EXL worked with a large life sciences company that provides a therapy for patients diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. The company wanted to understand why some patients stopped using the treatment, especially within the first three months, and what differentiated those who remained on therapy from those who dropped off.
EXL applied statistical regression and machine learning models, including a decision tree and a simulator, to analyze demographics, social determinants, medication use, comorbidities, and healthcare utilization. The solution identified key drivers of non-adherence and helped the client spot patients at high risk of stopping treatment, enabling more targeted interventions such as provider education, patient assistance programs, and payer optimization to improve adherence and outcomes.
