EXL worked with a leading regional health plan that was manually reviewing and processing more than 2 million complex documents. This created major issues with productivity, accuracy, turnaround time, and the ability to scale without adding staff.

EXL Health implemented a Natural Language Processing (NLP) solution to read, extract, and validate data from unstructured authorization documents, supported by a RAPID BluePRINT assessment and proof of concept. The solution processed more than 10,000 daily requests and up to 35 fields per document, helping the client cut FTE needs by 50%, reduce turnaround time by 70%, and improve accuracy by 5%.
