EXL worked with a large broker dealer that needed better support for advisor contacts and relationship data management across multiple offices and locations. The customer also needed help migrating to a new CRM system and handling ongoing CRM data issues and user requests, while consolidating source data from multiple external publishers into a consistent master data management process.
EXL implemented a master data model using deterministic and fuzzy matching, enrichment rules, and machine learning-assisted matching, along with automated stewardship for record merges and low-confidence reviews. EXL also added data validation, governance, integration testing, JIRA-based ETL support, and data quality dashboards with daily alerts. The result was lower error and duplicate rates, improved data quality, reduced operational costs, faster issue resolution, and on-time delivery of the upgraded MDM model, including clearing more than two months of backlog.
