Case Study: Vision Express achieves 24% increase in in-store availability with Exceedra

A Exceedra Case Study

Preview of the Vision Express Case Study

With a particularly complex retail model, Vision Express were finding their existing forecasting solution and business processes not fit for purpose

Vision Express is a leading UK optical retailer with more than 340 stores and around 35,000 SKUs, supporting rapid in-store glazing and home delivery of contact lenses. After moving to a direct sourcing, make-to-order model with long supplier lead times (4–6 months), the company found its SAP forecasting tools and manual processes couldn’t deliver accurate, timely forecasts for a complex retail environment.

Vision Express implemented Exceedra’s QFX forecasting solution, integrating with SAP and going from a working database in hours to a live, business-driving system within weeks. The flexible model let a single demand planner manage all DC forecasts, improved supplier collaboration and reduced lead times; results included a 24% increase in in-store availability, about 90% accuracy of manufacturer deliveries, fewer out-of-stocks and lower reserve stock and capital expenditure — delivered on time and under budget.
