Case Study: EMI Music achieves better retail insight and 10% sales and cost-efficiency improvement with Exceedra

A Exceedra Case Study

Preview of the EMI Case Study

The implementation of Exceedra is enabling EMI Music to achieve better retail insight across Europe helping them to improve sales, forecast accuracy and retailer collaboration.

EMI Music, one of the world’s leading record companies, faced falling physical sales and needed to offer more value to retailers across Europe. Although retailer POS data became available, it arrived in different formats and in huge volumes that EMI’s existing tools could not manage—data maintenance was slow, manual and prevented timely insight into thousands of SKUs, stock levels and store-level sales. EMI therefore sought an automated, easy-to-use solution to improve forecasting, sales performance and retailer collaboration.

Exceedra, deployed on Microsoft Azure, was rolled out across key European markets to automatically collect, harmonize and analyze retailer POS data, delivering simple, configurable reports and exception alerts to sales teams. The platform enabled faster identification of under- and over-distributed SKUs, clearer stock resolution discussions with retailers, better joint business planning and support for artist contract negotiations—driving roughly a 10% improvement in sales and cost efficiency and paving the way for integration with EMI’s demand-planning systems.
