A Everbridge Case Study
VMware, a global leader in virtualization and cloud software with about 18,000 employees, 156 offices and data centers on six continents, and more than 500,000 customers, faced rising operational and personnel risks from events like natural disasters, shootings and terrorist incidents. The company needed faster, more actionable situational awareness—especially from social media and real-time sources—to protect employees, travelers and critical operations worldwide.
To address this, VMware deployed Everbridge’s Visual Command Center in its Global Security Operations Center to integrate maps, assets, social feeds, traffic cameras and external data into a single dashboard. The system provides immediate alerts and searchable, geolocated intelligence so teams can pinpoint incidents (e.g., LAX shooting, SFO crash-landing, Boston manhunt, Chengdu earthquake), notify affected staff and cut response and communication time from hours to minutes or seconds, reducing risk and improving duty of care.
