A eSkill Case Study
Legal Aid Alberta is a 300‑employee not‑for‑profit that provides legal support in family law, child welfare, domestic violence, immigration, youth and criminal defense. The organization struggled with hires who appeared qualified but later revealed skills gaps, which slowed internal processes, increased unplanned training and mis‑hire costs, and ultimately harmed client outcomes and the organization’s mission.
To address this, Legal Aid Alberta implemented eSkill pre‑employment assessments (30–40 minute tests) to improve candidate screening. The assessments enabled the team to remove 25–40% of unsuitable candidates early, cut hiring costs by about 15%, reduce turnover by more than 25%, and achieve a return on investment within six months, improving hiring speed and overall recruitment success.
